Dunes West Real Estate - Mount Pleasant, SC

Dunes West, Mt. Pleasant SC Dunes West is one of the more popular neighborhoods in Mount Pleasant. It is located up Hwy 41, about 25 minutes to downtown Charleston, and 15-20 minutes to the beach. There are two entrances to the neighborhood, and Dunes West has a 'manned' entry gate for security. Homes here begin in the 400's (for condos), and can get into the millions at the rear of Dunes West.

Most of the people that live here enjoy the sense of "community". With all of the families, active retirees, and amenities available- it is a popular destination for many. On a personal note, Dunes West is one of the best manicured neighborhoods in all of Mount Pleasant, and is a pleasure to show prospective buyers.

Dunes West neighborhood offers golf, walking trails, 2 swimming pools (one with a zero-water entry and water slide), lighted tennis courts, boat landing, crab dock, and storage. The Mt. Pleasant Recreational Facility is nearby (basically within the neighborhood) with olympic sized indoor swimming pool, softball/baseball complex, lacrosse, and track.

The Dunes West Property Owners Association (POA) fees for 2011 are $1,364 for residents who live inside the gate at Dunes West. Fees are $380 for those living outside of the gate. The Dunes West POA collects their dues twice a year, so half of this amount is due in January and the other half is due in July.
