Waterfront homes for sale on Daniel Island, SC are more expensive due to limited waterfront area on the island. The only waterfront homes available are on the outer portions of the island, but have outstanding access to the Charleston Harbor and Wando River. In a more rural and quiet setting, Johns Island offers deep water and waterfront property at a more affordable price. This is one of (if not THE) last area surrounding Charleston where you can purchase larger land tracts on navigable water. Mount Pleasant has some of the best waterfront property in all of Charleston. With such a large surface area, next to the Charleston Harbor, and hundreds of creeks- Mt. Surprisingly, there are a number of opportunities (other than oceanfront) to find waterfront houses for sale in Folly Beach. There are a few creeks and that feed from the Folly River, giving tidal creek access to the ocean. The Folly River runs along the backside of Folly Beach, also creating ample opportunities to own a waterfront home or condo. West Ashley is a less expensive option than Downtown, Mt. Pleasant, Daniel Island, or James Island, when looking to buy waterfront. While most of the options will be associated with freshwater options, there are still tidal creeks that reach this far away from downtown Charleston.
