We wanted to remind all of our readers of the capabilities that our Charleston, SC MLS search has.  When searching for a home online in Charleston and the surrounding areas from your own computer- we’d like to give you the best virtual experience possible.  The way we accomplish this is by our implementation of the features and functionality of Google StreetView and Microsoft’s Bird’s Eye View.  We’d like to explain a little of both of these, below.

First, Google StreetView.  One of the unique characteristics this application has is the ability to get a 360 degree view of the surrounding street outside of the house.  It is an eye-level view from the street, and you can virtually “walk” down the street and take a look at the surrounding area.  With the click of the mouse, you can "grab" the picture and manipulate your view.  This can save you valuable time from driving out to the house, or scheduling an appointment to look at a house if there is an unsightly commercial building across the street, for example.  You can even take a look at the house next door.

Next is Microsoft Birds Eye View.  This is an overhead picture of what the house looks like in perspective to the other homes and areas around it.  You have the ability to zoom in or out, to see where this house lies relative to its surroundings.  This is a great way to look at the overhead beach view, any lakefront views, or if looking for tidal creek property- you can navigate the creeks behind the home to find bigger water.  Here again, you can look at surrounding distance to neighborhood pools, schools, and grocery stores.

Mike, I subscribed to your blog and have been following your updates. I really liked the street view that you added. I just added one to my site also. Very Helpful!
