66th Annual Festival of Houses and Gardens

It's that time of year again for the 66th Annual Festival of Houses and Gardens. This festival features the interiors of our beloved downtown historic antebellum homes, as well as the beautiful surrounding gardens of approximately 150 homes in 10 colonial Charleston neighborhoods dating to the 18th Century.

Take a walk and enjoy Charleston's distinctive history, architecture, gardens, and culture. This tour allows the public to view some of America's oldest historic homes, during Charleston's peak blooming season.

The tours feature 7 to 10 properties each day, of ten neighborhoods, dating from the American colonial period, through the antebellum and Victorian eras, to early 20th century. Take a walk back in history, and place…

It's a great time to be in Charleston!

It sure is a great time to live in Charleston! We could be up to our eyebrows in snow and continually fighting off the icy chill, but instead, we're eating fresh oysters and enjoying our beautiful landscape. Plus, as a scenic and cultural hub for the region, Charleston continues to keep the calendar packed with family enjoyment, right through the winter.

Charleston, SC Ranks #4 for Top 10 Cities in Us and Canada

Travel and Leisure Magazine just came out with their best cities in the United States and Canada, and guess who came in at #4?  You guessed it, Charleston, SC.  The number one, two, and three spots were: New York, San Francisco, and Quebec City.

The magazine (with a circulation of a million) conducts a reader’s survey to get the results, and this year, Charleston got bumped up two spots from number 6 to number 4.  Our sister city, Savannah, came in close at #7.
