Beautiful gardens surrounding a downtown home in CharlestonIt's that time of year again for the 66th Annual Festival of Houses and Gardens. This festival features the interiors of our beloved downtown historic antebellum homes, as well as the beautiful surrounding gardens of approximately 150 homes in 10 colonial Charleston neighborhoods dating to the 18th Century.

Take a walk and enjoy Charleston's distinctive history, architecture, gardens, and culture. This tour allows the public to view some of America's oldest historic homes, during Charleston's peak blooming season.

It sure is a great time to live in Charleston! We could be up to our eyebrows in snow and continually fighting off the icy chill, but instead, we're eating fresh oysters and enjoying our beautiful landscape. meeting_streetTravel and Leisure Magazine just came out with their best cities in the United States and Canada, and guess who came in at #4?  You guessed it, Charleston, SC.  The number one, two, and three spots were: New York, San Francisco, and Quebec City.

The magazine (with a circulation of a million) conducts a reader’s survey to get the results, and this year, Charleston got bumped up two spots from number 6 to number 4.  Our sister city, Savannah, came in close at #7.
